The Defender Services Program is the federal appointed counsel/public defense system established by the Criminal Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3006A. The Defender Services Program safeguards the Sixth Amendment Right to Counsel in the federal courts by providing high-quality, zealous representation on behalf of persons unable to afford counsel in federal criminal proceedings.
